About this deal

Weight: the HyperFire's weight is considerable. It's not really heavy, but try holding it with one hand, with your arm outstretched away from you. Why??? Ahhhhhhh!!! Maybe it was better when it was jamming! A junk Nerf gun jamming is at least something I can understand! Loading the magazine is done in the usual NERF manner of, well, just pushing each dart into the top of the mag in the right direction (as indicated by an arrow on the side). Once that’s done and the batteries are in place, all you need to do is slap the magazine into the slot in the underside of the gun and you’re ready for rapid fire. Some people say it eats batteries. That's expensive. You're spending four extra dollars every month. The jam door is hard to open: you need to pull the button on the jam clearing door really hard to open.

Hold down the flywheel for a bit before pressing the trigger. To stop firing when there are still darts in the drum, you should NOT release the flywheel and the trigger at the same time. Nope. You should release the trigger first, then wait a second, and release the flywheel. Nerf Fortnite– Battle Royal-inspired blasters suitable for 3 years to 14+. Read product descriptions for more on age suitability. Just behind the accessory rail is a hatch secured with a slide catch, which is for dealing with potential jams. The hatch doesn’t open too wide, however, so it’s not as helpful as it could be. Thankfully I haven’t had many jams.

Need D batteries (not included): this is a small con; D batteries are cheap and and it's more than worth it for all that firepower.Speaking of the motordrive, its activation button is in the shape of a secondary trigger below the firing trigger, just as it is on the Elite HyperFire, the Elite Stryfe and other flywheel-powered NERFs. You use your middle finger to rev up the motor and your index finger to set the darts firing. Still, I’ve used the Mastodon for at least six lengthy NERF battles now, as well as for range and accuracy tests, and still haven’t had to change the batteries or felt the performance drop. Should I buy the NERF Mega Mastodon? You don’t just pull the trigger to start popping darts, though. There’s a secondary trigger you have to hold in with your middle finger, which gets the motor spinning up – then you can squeeze the main trigger to set the foam a-flying. Where the Mastodon does excel is that its Mega darts offer a very flat initial trajectory when firing parallel to the ground. This means you can get an excellent range of about 40-50 feet without having to aim high and let the darts arc down.

Firepower: five darts a second doesn't sound overly unrealistic if you compare it with all of Nerf's other unreasonable claims. One other slight downside to this battery-powered blaster is the whirr of the motor and flywheel. If you’re trying to be at all stealthy, that goes out the window when you spin the Hyperfire up – your foe may have a split second’s warning before the darts rain down. Not that it’s terribly noisy; it’s just not silent. NERF Rival blasters make a great choice for team games, letting you choose your side: red or blue. Start a head-to-head competition fuelled by NERF Rival’s power and precision. And for fans of the Fortnite gaming world, there’s a whole range of NERF Fortnite blasters to take your Fortnite battles from the screen to the playing field. NERF brings advanced blaster technology to precision shooting, tag games and target practice. Customise your blaster with NERF Modulus, maximise your range with NERF N-Strike Elite or start a micro battle with collectible NERF MicroShots. I found it easiest to ditch the shoulder strap and hold the Mastodon a little in front of me to get a better aim – at waist level, though, since this isn’t a blaster you’ll be getting up to your cheek for sighting. My son, however, needs the shoulder strap to carry the Mastodon for any length of time, which means he can’t hold it as far in front of him as I do.

Nerf Gelfire Pro– High-performance blasters with hydro-gel rounds which burst on impact. Suitable for 14+. NERF COLLABORATIONS: Nerf Guns, or Nerf Blasters, are toy dart gun products owned by Hasbro that fire ammunition such as darts, discs, or balls constructed from foam. The first Nerf Blaster, the Nerf Blast-A-Ball, was released in 1989. With that covered, let's move on to the pros and cons. Yep, it actually has cons. I just am saying that it's relatively easy to avoid jamming the HyperFire. Our range of scooters can be used by children as young as 3 to their teens. They feature lots of adorable themes ranging from Peppa Pig to Spiderman, that’s sure to add a splash of joy as they zip around the neighbourhood. The Globber scooters are known for their easy-fold design and bright lights, making storage hassle-free and safe for riding after sunset. We also offer electric scooters for older users, coming with removable padded seats, providing a simple yet exciting means of transportation. And if you’re a beginner, start with one of our stable three-wheeled scooters designed to provide a balanced and secure riding experience. The drum has not given me any trouble pushing the darts up while firing, which is absolutely amazing, considering the hyper rate of fire, when you don't jam it. That's right. When YOU don't jam it. Assume that it's your fault first. You didn't use it properly. Try to find a solution. Look inside. Figure it out. Then either do better next time, or it's all Nerf's fault. Only then, I say, is a bad review warranted.

If you do elevate the barrel to increase the distance, though, you add only around 20 feet, where you can sometimes get another 50 feet from Elite darts. Swings and roundabouts, in other words; the Mastodon is good for short to medium distances, but no sniper or long-range artillery rifle. There’s nothing like your kids running around in the garden or park playing with their friends. Add to their fun time with our range of Nerf Blasters and toys that cater to various play preferences, ensuring hours of engagement and physical activity. If you’re into NERF warfare of the less subtle persuasion, the Hyperfire is a suitably unsubtle beast that offers a ton of fun. It spits out foam darts faster than any NERF blaster before it, and is a joy to handle. Comfortable: the thingy in front of the drum is really comfortable to hold, and makes it feel a lot lighter and easier to move around. Plus it has a cheek rest for aiming. Yay! So, when you let the flywheel spin for a second, then press the trigger, the flywheel is hopefully going to be actually SPINNING, and the dart is going to be like, 'I'm getting the hell out of here!' When you STOP firing, if you release both the flywheel trigger and the actual shooting trigger at the same time, the flywheel is going to stop, but the conveyor belt that pushes the darts FROM the drum magazine thingy TO the flywheel that moves when you press the trigger is going to be like, 'just shoot one more dart? Please? Just one?'The motordrive does spoil the party a little, however, with that diet of six D cells. Not only are they expensive, but they’re not the type of batteries that you’re likely to have just lying around in a drawer – especially not six of them. Mobility: see Weight. It's really hard shooting round corners without exposing yourself. To do that, you would have to hold it with one hand (see Weight) and your gun would be easily pushed to the side and you would be stupidly inaccurate. Works best in open areas. Loading up with ammo is as simple as pushing the Mega darts into the open front of the cylinder, turning the cylinder by hand when necessary.
